Don began playing drums in the sixth grade when he joined the elementary school band as a drummer. By high school, music had become his primary passion and he took every class available; music theory, advanced music theory, percussion studies, choir, jazz choir, music appreciation, concert band, rock combos and more.

During his junior year of high school, Don auditioned for a spot with the army military band and earned the incredible honor of acceptance into the Military School of Music. After graduating, Don played overseas in a variety of local bands, both military and civilian. When he exited the military in 1995, he spent a few years teaching and playing full-time. He was the go-to drummer that bands would call to fill-in. From large 15 piece bands with full horn sections to small rock, blues and cover bands, he got to play with a wide variety music with various bands. He has taught drums both privately and with music schools including Best Buy Music Instruments and Guitar Center.

Don has been active with drums and music for his entire life and loves teaching students how powerful a solid drummer is and how important the drummer is to any band by controlling the energy, the dynamics, and accenting important musical parts. Don will never stop sharing his joy of drumming, music and teaching others to find their own love of music.
